Re: Night tube
I was hoping that it would change things, If for example I'm looking to finish at Terminal 5 then I can start later in the day and work Olympia in to the schedule in a better way but if its not going to Terminal 4 then that idea goes out the window.

Re: Night tube
You'd think they'd at least have the decency to run an Olympia train at 2:30am!

Re: Night tube
the only starting place where it might be useful is morden i see so going back to tunnel vision!
depends on also when they going to start the t5 service it might throw some useful but without mill hill east and the wimbledon branch being operated i cant see enough time to lose before actual normal hours.

Re: Night tube
I'm inclined to agree, with odd bits like MHE and T4 not online, it makes it hard to see how you can make use of the night running - unless you start at a non-standard place which could cost time.
Unless you did something like finish at T5 and use the first T4 of the day?

Re: Night tube
I haven't done timings on this, but how about getting the last train down to Wimbo, running/bus to Morden, up to Stockwell with a possible Kennington double back. Take out Brixton, up the Vic to Green Park- Picc to Finsbury Park, Vic down to Warren Street, double back Goodge Street, then up to Edgware and Stanmore, down to Green Park again and then Heathrow?
Last train into Wimbo arrives at 1:11am, so less than four hours to fill until the first train out of T4

Re: Night tube
i was thinking about doing all of the stations that are open during night tube service, so only need to go down to terminal 5 not 4, but i reckon that idea would work, but the central line is doing night tube to ealing broadway isnt it?

Re: Night tube
Yes it is - I was wondering how to make use of it though - Jub goes to Stratford but you could leave the eastern end of the Central isolated

69 bus, Walthamstow Central to Leyton, 24 hour service. And with the traffic at that time of night, whoosh! 10 minutes.
All London buses: 23 hours 25 minutes (with Adham, David, Josh and Tangy)

Re: Night tube
I like the idea of a night tube challenge, but I don't think you could get round the whole network before daytime services resumed, so that would mean either using day services to finish off, or just seeing how many night stations you could do in the time. There are some extra 24 hour buses, including the 307. The only link which seems problematic is between the 2 eastern branches of the central - the best I've come up with is new route 123 from Gants Hill to vaguely near Snaresbrook!

Re: Night tube
I like the idea of doing the long off network transfers at night, as you're right, they'd be fast - but if you did that switch Hugo, you'd have to revisit that part of the network later to do the rest of the Hainault loop, Epping etc, meaning a lot of double coverage

It does make a completion rather less difficult.
